I'd like share some of my experiences and
knowledge of contractor waterproofing that i had handle projects mainly in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
There are many types of waterproofing such as waterproofing PU membrane (polyurethane), and cementitious waterproofing coating and torch-on waterproofing
membrane, Bitumen waterproofing membrane, admixtures addictive waterproofing, acrylic waterproofing and some exposed waterproofing membrane etc...
Waterproofing membrane/coating is commonly applied on areas such as:
1) roof slab concrete
2) toilet slab concrete
3) water retaining structures (water tank, pump room)
4) swimming pool / Podium
5) retaining wall (large scale condo project)
6) driveway ((commercial areas and high end condo)
7) wet kitchen
8) balcony
9) refuse chamber
10) Basement and others etc
For large scale of projects development, the main contractor usually will have to appoint few subcontractor which they are specializing in each field industry.
The Waterproofing Applicator company usually will submit
their tender documents to bid the large scale project Condominium like those
Mont Kiara 11, Tropicana Grande, Publika Solaris Dutamas. All drawing details,
test report, data sheet catalogue, project reference are required to submit as a
proposal to get approved by main contractor, consultant, developer before awarded the job.
